9G Pre-arranged Employment Visa / Work Visa

This is a long-term work visa for foreigners who have a legal employment contract with a local company in the Philippines. It is usually valid for 1 to 3 years and can be renewed as long as the employment relationship continues.

9G visa cancellation procedures - procedures related to termination of employment/resignation/dismissal/transfer to a new employer/departure from the country/downgrade to 9A etc.

AEP Alien Employment Permit

It is issued by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). It is required for foreigners who are employed by a Philippine employer and apply for 9G. It is usually valid for one year and is renewed annually.

ECC Emigration Clearance Certificate

This is a certificate that certain foreigners must obtain before leaving the country. It verifies that they are eligible to leave the country and have no outstanding issues such as overstaying, unpaid fines, or disputes.

PWP Provisional Work Permit

Issued by the Bureau of Immigration (BI), this provisional permit allows you to begin working legally while your long-term work visa, such as a 9G or PEZA visa, is being processed. It is usually valid for three months and automatically expires when your 9G visa is approved.

Visa downgrade (Working 9G → Tourist 9A)

This is a legal procedure for foreigners in the Philippines to switch their current work visa (9G) to a tourist visa (9A) in order to retire, change their residence status, prepare to leave the country, etc.
